Dediserve VPS Hosting

GeakeIT used to be hosted on VPS.net, perhaps the most popular and well known VPS host out there. However, when they had some storage and stability issues in early 2011 I began to look elsewhere. At one point the VPS’ storage simply stopped, heavily corrupted by connection issues and it took VPS.net some 7 hours to repair. Communication was dreadful and when the VPS is used to host client’s websites, it’s just not acceptable to have an unstable VPS.

The Dediserve support team offered to migrate my ISPManager’s data and configuration for free, so I gave them the necessary details and sure enough only around an hour later it was ready for a DNS change. So I changed it and it’s been perfectly stable ever since. I also upgraded the VPS a few weeks later and after a swift reboot it was again ready for service. It took no time or effort at all and their support staff again proved faultless.

Performance is great and according to a recent report their VPS‘ are the fastest out there. Whether this is 100% true I do not know (it may be restricted to CPU operations negating storage speed etc) but in all honesty I didn’t migrate from VPS.net looking for more performance, I just wanted a stable VPS. That said, my Dediserve VPS did download an 18MB update in less than 1 second the other day…

So in conclusion, my experience with Dediserve has been very good. Their support is what sets them apart: fast, friendly and attentive instead of a heavily charged, ticketed system like others.
